All good tech must come to an end. Funai Electric Comapany—the last known producers of Video Cassette Recorders, or VCRs—have hit “stop” on manufacturing, Japanese newspaper Nikkei reports.
Funai ends the production of home-use video tape recorder of VHS system (video recording and playback machines) 7 at the end of the month. Major consumer electronics manufacturers in Japan, such as Panasonic has finished the production, that only Funai Electric has continued. In addition to the shrinking of the market, for the procurement of parts it became difficult, decided to withdraw.
