DJ Hero sales aren’t quite what Activision might’ve hoped they’d be. Slow pre-order numbers has turned into a steady stream of off-the-shelf pickings, but the game hasn’t seen anywhere near the retail success of the behemoth Guitar Hero series.
Activision’s not phased, though, and seemingly has a sequel in the pipeline. Bobby Kotick, Activision’s CEO said in an interview with Game Informer that he thinks “DJ Hero is a really innovative product. I can’t wait for you to see next year’s. That’s the thing: we’re sticking with it. We’ll stick with it and get it right.” Next year’s, you say?
Having signed Eminem and Jay-Z for the first game, the DJ Hero team has been on the lookout for new talent to fill its record bag. David Guetta is the first name on the list, revealing that he has agreed to work on “the number two version”.
There’s no word on release date or price yet, but we’ll keep you posted with further info as and when we get it.
