Cambridge Audio 650BD universal blu-ray player outed

British hi-fi and home cinema aficionado Cambridge Audio has launched it’s first Blu-ray player the 650BD. Not content with just sticking with one format, the universal 650BD will also upscale standard DVD to true 1080p and play CDs.

Along with delivering delicious high-def goodness the player also keeps audiophiles chipper with compatibility for 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, Dolby True HD and Dolby Digital Plus. Support for Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio formats keeps audio fidelity from Blu-ray discs top notch. Sounds good to us.

Onboard storage is at 1GB and there’s also two USB ports and of course an array of HDMI, digital and analogue outputs.  Cambridge Audio also claim super fast loading speeds and lighting fast power up time.

It doesn’t come cheap though, the 650BD will set you back £399.95 and will be available in March.
