Apple tablet sucks up global OLED supply?

The Apple iSlate/Tablet rumour mill is still full spate, the latest nod being that Apple has bought up all the mid-size LED and OLED screens available.

Interestingly, T3 got a similar tip-off back in December, confirming that someone – whether Apple or not – has got a serious taste for 7-10.1in multitouch screens.

Whether the iSlate will feature an LED or OLED screen, or both in different models is a hotly debated topic, but after the Google Nexus One launched with OLED, it’ll be tough for top-end gadgets to break through without similar stunning visuals.

Apple is widely expected to launch the hotly awaited iSlate or ‘iPhone on steroids’ on Jan 27.

As also predicted, CES was a veritable riot of hot tablet prototypes from Dell, Lenovo and Microsoft/HP, making it almost certain that 2010 will be the year of the tablet.
