Apple has once again, slashed the price for its bestseller iPhone 5S in India. The device which had received a price cut a few months ago, has now been reportedly brought down to almost half in the past three months.
The iPhone 5s has a 4-inch retina display and is powered by A7 chipset – based on 64-bit PC architecture. There’s a co-processor called M7 for motion sensing activities. The phone has an 8MP, dual LED flashlight, and a rear back camera that can record 720p HD movie in 120fps.
Apple’s iPhone 5s is now retailing for half the launch price in India, starting at Rs 21,899, although the company has not officially announced a price-cut.
Presently, the iPhone 5s 16GB is available on Flipkart at as low as Rs. 21,948; both Amazon India andSnapdeal are offering it at Rs. 21,499; while Infibeam (the only Apple authorised online retail partner) isselling it at Rs. 21,899.
The iTunes Store service has been a hit in the US and elsewhere, where users can buy popular music for as cheap as 99 cents a piece, has so far not been accessible for users in India. However, now Indian users can buy and pay for these content in local currency.
The latest Salman Khan movie Ek Tha Tiger, for instance, can be bought for Rs 290 or rented for Rs 80 on the iTunes store. Individual songs from new movie Dabang2 can be bought for Rs 12 a piece, opening up a huge content-sales opportunity for the Cupertino, California-based company whose expensive phones and tablet devices do not sell in huge volumes in India, a value-conscious market.
Compared to other countries, pricing in India seems pretty reasonable. Single songs are priced between Rs 7 and Rs 15 and albums start from Rs 70. [On Flipkart, a single song costs you Rs 15]

To make a critical Christmas 2010 release date for their Oscar-nominated film, “True Grit,” the Coens negotiated several tight turns in post-production with a custom Final Cut Pro editing workflow honed over the course of their last several features. Says Joel Coen: “We had to get the movie done in a very short period of time. Final Cut Pro, because of its efficiencies and speed, enabled us to meet that deadline.”
