Simple Port Forwarding Makes Easy to Open Ports on Home Routers [Tool]

Unless you know all the details, opening ports on routers isn’t a straightforward process in many cases, especially when you try to open a port for a specific network application that doesn’t work properly behind a router. Here comes this Simple Port Forwarding too to fill this gap.

Simple Port Forwarding by is a FREE portable application that does what its name says, opening port on routers. It currently supports over 900 models of the most popular routers, so chances are, the router you are using at home should be one of them supported.

To simplify the process, Simple Port Forwarding saves these steps to configure the router into its database. Currently, it has over 700 different programs in its database with most popular P2P programs included, such as BitTorrent and uTorrent.

Because it’s a portable application, you don’t need to install it in order to use it. Simply extract the files from the zipped file and double click SPF.exe file to launch the program.

Once the program is launched, it will scan the network trying to find the router. If found it, the router will be listed in the Router Info. You can also pick the router from the Getting Started window.

You can Open New Port from File –> Add Ports.

You can then either pick up a program from the Program Database list or add as a custom item.

It’s a useful tool that might save you time when you want to open a specific port for a specific program on the router.
