Amazon has launched yet another service with Kindle, called Kindle for Web. Previously Kindle users had an ability to preview a few pages of a book before they bought it. This service has now been renamed by Amazon as Kindle for Web. The sample size of books has now been increased to include the entire first chapter of a novel and also including social networking and sharing features.
Using Kindle for Web you can read the entire first chapter of a book, directly from your web browser and no additional software is required. Sharing features of the service include integration with Facebook, Twitter, and if you are a Blogger who uses Amazon’s Associates Program you can share the samples on your blog. Amazon is pushing hard for bloggers to use the samples as every book that is bought from that referral link on their blog will earn the associate referral fees.
Amazon is now pushing the marketing of Kindle to maximum by giving access to the first chapter, as well as allowing integration of social network sharing. Kindle for Web appears to be HTML-5 driven, and could be used on devices like iPad which support it.
