Flock BrowserSome promising web browser with enhanced social networking capabilities shows up and the browser war flocks up. This is exactly what’s happening right now with all the hype going behind the RockMelt browser. While the majors like Firefox, Safari or even Chrome are not even bothered with such a competition, but the derived browsers like Flock [from chromium] certainly are feeling to loose their grounds.

Flock has taken this competition heads up with the recent update 3.5. The Flock 3.5 has brought both security and speed improvements with a new Chromium 7 core. The update has simultaneously come for Mac OS X, upgrading the Mac version of Flock from Gecko engine to Webkit based-Chromium. Flock counts on its especial “social sidebar” featuring enhanced Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and likes of YouTube, RSS and Flickr.

Flock has even released a small chart comparing itself with new RockMelt. Following is the video that explains why Flock is the only “Social Web browser”:
