Apple’s long-awaited internet tablet device should finally be with us just weeks after the start of 2010 after fresh developments all-but-confirmed its arrival at the end of January.
News that Apple has bought up the domain name iSlate.com has helped the company’s shares to reach an all-time-high over the festive season after months of speculation finally draws to an end.

According to reports, Apple has also booked a San Francisco convention centre for 26th January, where the announcement is scheduled to be made to the world.
The iSlate.com purchase is the first real indication of what the device, which is set to be akin to a bumper iPod touch with a 10-inch screen, willl actually be called. Shares rose to a peak of $209.06 on Christmas Eve meaning a 145 per cent rise in the company’s portfolio for 2009.
