T3 spoke to Andy Griffiths, Vice President of Consumer Electronics for Samsung UK at the Samsung European forum in Budapest, who revealed that Smart TVs will be the main focus from a Samsung TV manufacturing point of view.

When we quizzed Mr Griffiths on the possibility of glasses-free 3D TV already being in the works he revealed that Samsung "have no plans to launch a product like that at this stage."

Griffiths added, "We believe there is a lot of work to do to get the quality right and ready for consumers homes. We have no immediate plans for glasses-free 3D. What we are concentrating on as the Samsung brand is a fully immersive high quality picture experience with goggles."

Whether it would be something that Samsung would have to take into consideration in the near future, Griffiths said, "Possibly. There is alot of work to do. We are one year into the 3D glasses launch and we believe that there is still a lot of good potential in that area and still more to do going forward".
 

Toshiba demonstrated glasses-free 3D TV technology at CES back in January, while the Nintendo 3DS and the LG Optimus 3D phone are examples of glasses-free 3D tech set to launch in 2011.

Samsung TV fans it seems will have to wait a little longer before being able to dump those specs.

Having repeatedly mocked Apple’s lack of Flash compatibility in its iPhone and iPad devices the first tablet to launch running Google’s tablet-centric Android 3.0, Honeycomb, OS, the Motorola Xoom will touch down in the states later this week with early adopters having to wait until “Spring 2011” for full Flash credentials to arrive.

Although Adobe has confirmed that it is already working on Flash Player 10.2 for Honeycomb, complete with high frame-rates, dual-core support and reduced CPU usage during video perusal, gameplay and animation playback, its omission from the Xoom’s launch could prove costly for Motorola. The Xoom's stateside launch prices were officially unveiled last week with devices to hits stores priced between $600 and $799 depending on 4G credentials.

Stressing the importance of Flash to consumers, UK retailer the Dixons Group recently pulled sales of the Toshiba’s Folio 100 tablet despite holding UK exclusivity on the device because it did not support Adobe’e video player software. The Xoom, which is expected to hit the UK during Q2 should have been given its Flash upgrade in time for its European arrival.

With a fleet of Honeycomb powered tablets announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week ahead of their respective global rollouts, Adobe will need to hurry its Flash 10.2 Honeycomb compatibility if the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and LG Optimus Pad are to launch unaffected.
