cancelled IE8 mid-install now error 0x80070005

Using Vista Home Basic 32 bit. As I understand it, I am supposed to start a
new thread now. If I’m wrong,
please excuse me. For history please see my thread "IE script error
preventing printing" posted on 9/14. A little background here: I cancelled
installation of IE8 mid-install, now I get IE script error when I try to
print. In my previous thread Bruce Hagen & PA Bear suggested I go to
Start/Run & type regsvr32 ole32.dll then press enter, reboot & try. I tried
that and it didn’t work. I get this:
RegSvr32
The module "ole32.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed
with error code 0x80070005. For more information about this problem, search
online using the error code as a search term.
I did google the code but there are MANY sites claiming to fix it. I would
rather rely upon the expertise & experience found in these groups to direct
me to the correct site or link. Or to suggest something else I should try.
Furthermore, I wonder if since all the problems began on 8/26—-should I
try to do a system restore to 8/25????
