Often we rely on our browsing history to get the website url which we forgot to bookmark or doesn’t remember name of website. Most browsers including Firefox stores every website you browse in browser history. There could be number of websites which you visit multiple times in a day and do not want to be stored in your browser history.

Unfortunately there is no such feature in Firefox which lets you to specify those websites. Here is handy utility CacheFire a history manager for Mozilla Firefox.

It allows you to specify sites which should not be kept in the browsing history. You can either specify whole URLs (web page addresses) or you can specify a partial string to match an URL.

For example, entering the string “youtube” into CacheFire would prevent all pages whose address contain the string “youtube” from being stored in the browsing history.

We are depended on many Google Services like Gmail for emails, Blogger for blogs and Google Reader for feeds for our day to day task. We can’t even think about losing our Google or Gmail account. For this reason it is necessary to have offline backup of Gmail, Blogger or Google Reader account.

Unfortunately Google doesn’t offer any such backup service. Here is Gookup excellent java based tool which lets you to take offline backup of Google Services. You can backup Gmail, Google Reader & Blogger blogs. Gookup is command line utility.

This time Aston of Lifenexus has managed to port Ubuntu Mobile 9.04 on its Nokia N900 phone. Though it’s not actual port just modified the n810 methods to get it working on n900. The best part is you don’t need to wipe Nokia Maemo to run Ubuntu Mobile 9.04.

Ubuntu mobile is booting from the SD card and you only need to select the OS you want to boot from Boot Menu.

For some time now Microsoft has been working on Windows Live Wave 4 to accommodate new features and improved UI for its services and desktop applications which also include Windows Live Messenger 2010. Here is first leaked screenshots of Windows Live Messenger 2010 which says that Live Messenger 2010 is reached to milestone 3.

Back in December we had seen couple of leaked images followed by January 2010 leak and now here are some more screenshots of Windows Live Messenger 2010 appeared on cnBeta.com.  The screenshots reveals additional features that should make their way into Windows Live Messenger version 15 – also known as version 2012.

If you remember sometime back we had reported about Firefox for Android development, which will have full Firefox interface and not like Fennec/Firefox Mobile UI. The reason behind working full Firefox Interface is in future android based tablets and netbooks may find Firefox for android more usable.

Most smartphones like Sony Xperia, HTC HD2, Nokia N900 etc have enough processing capacity to run modern operating systems like Linux, Mac OS X. We have seen Nokia N900 hacked to run Mac OS X & Android in dual boot. Also Xperoid android ROM was recently released Sony Xperia X10 to let you to run Android on Sony Xperia.

Now here is yet another achievement from Linux hackers, fatsal from XDA forum has managed to run Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 on Xperia X1. Though the functionality is very limited with Ubuntu 8.04 on Xperia X1 but it has opened whole new world for hackers and developers. If you want to run Ubuntu 8.04 on  your Xperia X1 then head towards XDA discussion.
